The fundraisers going above and beyond for young people

We’re extremely grateful for all the fundraisers who make our work possible.

From braving the mud trial and half marathons to desert treks and lengthy walks, they show great enthusiasm and motivation in raising money to help support young people.

We'd like to highlight some recent fundraisers who have shown a great deal of determination and passion, even when faced with changes to their fundraising plans!

Lynn Rattigan, UK & Ireland Chief Operating Officer, didn’t let the cancellation of the Wadi Rum Trek stop her and continued to raise money by walking over 100km across the UK in five days. Here’s what she had to say about her experience…

Milly Martin, Product & Experience Design Consultant at EY Seren, challenged herself to trek 100km through the Sahara Desert over five days. Speaking about her experience and reasons for fundraising, she said…

From exploring diverse desert landscapes in the heat to stargazing at night at camp in the cold, this journey has been truly unforgettable. One of the things that has made this journey so unforgettable is the inspiring people I have met along the way, both within EY and other adventurers on the trek. I wanted to take part in a charity trek so I could challenge myself in a new environment whilst also raising money for such an important cause - to support young people from low-income backgrounds get the chance they deserve to succeed in the workplace. Kate Bamford, EY Policing Client Service Partner, also decided to complete her own version of the cancelled Petra Trek, walking 75km across the UK over five days. Sharing her reasons for taking on this challenge, she says…

Allison Wilson, Director - People Advisory Services at EY, took on the 2023 Mud Trial, smashing her way through a 5km course full of muddy obstacles. Here’s why she signed up…

I took part in the challenge to test my fitness levels (basically goaded by my exercise buddies and team who know that I work out regularly), determination (I have a fear of mud/dirt and heights) and also as my personal commitment to make sure I participate in at least one Ripples/EY Foundation event per year as part of building a better working world. What I gained from the experience: new friends, a sense of accomplishment in crossing the finish line with said new friends, and being the top fundraising team (with a sense of relief that we got through it together).
